Trooper is a dog with an unknown, yet probably very sad background. Trooper arrived at animal control on incredibly cold morning on a heavy chain that must have snapped when the weather got below freezing. He was incredibly underweight, had sores all over his body, had significant hair loss, and looked as though he had lived outside his entire life. But the most remarkable thing about Trooper is that he holds no grudges. He quickly won over the volunteers at the animal control center with his kisses and desire to be held and petted. Poor Trooper was running out of time before we stepped in. But Trooper's bad luck wasn't over yet. This poor guy's heart-worms were so bad that he almost died of heart failure. He is currently still undergoing treatment and will be with us for awhile due to his dire condition. Despite this, he is growing hair back and gaining weight fast! This incredible boy loves his crate, loves his foster siblings, and has fantastic indoor manners. He will be adoptable in the spring of 2019 when he completely healthy and cleared by multiple vets.
